Yes, Ma’m. Whatever You say, Ma’m.
However, with all due respect for Your Ladyship and Your unquestionably correct opinion, this humble slave begs to point out that in today’s world, males say “Yes, Ma’m” to just about any Woman, just as they say “Yes, Sir” to another man. Even policemen say that when they give someone a speeding ticket.
If You please, the term has been downgraded by constant usage, even though it is the prescribed term of address for The Queen, and that’s something.
Allow me to suggest that in a male-led BDSM relationship [shudder!], the dominant man is at least termed “Master,” just as the submissive, male or Female, is frequently termed “slave.” It certainly sounds more demeaning to hear a slave say “Yes, Master” (shades of Igor in the old Franenmovies!) or “Yes Mistress” instead of “sir” or “ma’m”
It is, if you will permit, just a little more forceful than the implied relationship between a pupil and a teacher, or a worker and an employer. Or even a subject and The Queen. This is also the reasoning behind capitalizing pronouns and nouns referring to the Dominant: it raises Her to the level of a Goddess. (Our on-line host, Richard, does not agree with this practice, but is kind enough not to copy-edit it out [if it’s just lazy, Richard, don’t say anything and take credit for kindness!] Thanks.)
All that having been offered for Your consideration, Ma’m, Your correspondent clearly repeats that in any BDSM inequality, the Dominant makes the rules, and the submissive follows them — slavishly, to coin a phrase.
